How Do You Get to Screenshots on PC?

On Windows PC, screenshots are saved in the Pictures/Screenshots folder when using Win+PrtScn or pasted from clipboard using Snipping Tool.

On a Windows PC, screenshots taken with Win+PrtScn are automatically saved in your Pictures folder under a subfolder called 'Screenshots'. You can find them by opening File Explorer, navigating to This PC, then Pictures, then Screenshots.

For screenshots taken with the Snipping Tool (Win+Shift+S), they are copied to your clipboard but not automatically saved. You need to paste them into an image editor like Paint, or click the notification that appears after capturing to open the Snipping Tool editor where you can save the file to any location you choose.

To quickly access all your screenshots, open File Explorer and type 'shell:Screenshots' in the address bar. This takes you directly to the system screenshots folder. You can also pin this folder to your Quick Access sidebar for easy future access.

If you use third-party tools like ShareX, Greenshot, or Lightshot, screenshots may be saved to custom locations. Check the tool's settings to find or change the default save directory.

For older Windows versions or if the PrtScn key saves to clipboard instead of a file, open Paint (search for it in the Start menu), press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot, then use File, Save As to choose where to save it.

The Xbox Game Bar (Win+G) also has a screenshot feature that saves captures to your Videos folder under a Captures subfolder.

Practical takeaway: Check your Pictures/Screenshots folder for automatic captures. For clipboard screenshots, open Paint and paste with Ctrl+V. Pin your Screenshots folder to Quick Access for fast access.
